Skype is already familiar with the video: nearly a quarter of minutes of international calls using its services in video, as well as 40% of calls within the United States. "Qik is complementary to what we do," he said. With the resources provided by Skype, Qik should be able to strengthen its service and launch new features for the international market, while Skype, meanwhile, is spared from scratch for his service video instant messaging.
Skype, which announced in August its intention to go public at an unspecified date, also took the occasion of CES to announce new initiatives to increase access points to its services: a growing number of TVs connected Internet allows the use of Skype, just like a DVD player Blu-Ray made by Panasonic.
