ViewSonic wants to catch a bit of an edge to get noticed in a highly competitive market such as smartphones, what better way than betting to include the newest version of Android on a phone can live up to the circumstances. The long-rumored Android 2.4 will see the light at the end of the tunnel, more specifically speaking of April, when the company famous for its monitors would list your ViewSonic ViewPad 4.
On the new version of Android is said to be able to run applications developed for supporting the Dual-Core Honeycomb, on phones with a single core. Not to be named the Ice Cream as we had previously baptized. According to the source of the information is not currently possible to run these applications in Gingerbread (Android 2.3), and the new version will continue calling the same way, comes to that.
An important detail given the amount of software being developed for dual-core tablets will start to flourish after the Mobile World Congress. But to me it seems strange explanation gives Pocket-lint, I see no sense to run applications that require more resources on less capable phones, I think the idea could be directed to dual-core current phones, like Motorola Atrix, Bionic Droid, the Optimus 2X LG, Samsung Galaxy or S2, to load applications developed for Honeycomb.
We hope that soon we will be removing doubts. To end the issue of versions and talk a little about the phone, it is noted that Ice Cream could be Android 3.1, but better not touch this subject more then finishing relating versions incorrectly. The family below ViewPad grow in size, is that by the number 4 indicates that the screen is 4.1 inch, and the truth is that taking into account the dates we speak, do not think the phone has a lot to do inside with the model we presented in early January.
We know that in addition to brand new Android 2.4 (sure to accompany any manufacturer) will support Flash 10.1, and a 5 megapixel camera that records video in high resolution (720p), also have a mini-HDMI output. Vía | Pocket-lint.
