The Xbox 360 is no longer the best selling console in the U.S. during the Christmas season despite the rapid growth of its accessory Kinect. The year closed with a drop in sales of video game industry, although it forecast that 2011 will be a good year. According to data from NPD Group's audit, in December sold 2.3 million Nintendo DS, the Wii 2.3 million and 1.9 million Xbox 360's still the month of December with more sales in history Microsoft console.

The company points out that it sold more aircraft by the paucity of stocks. "If we could make more Kinect, more would have sold," said David Dennis, head of product. It is expected that the replacement consoles do not arrive until mid-February. Games spending fell 6% in 2010, but reached 18,600 million dollars, according to NPD.

And that thanks to new accessories as Kinect for Xbox and Play Move to encourage sales of appliances, but not games. As announced in Las Vegas the CEO of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, the company had the goal of placing five million consoles by the end of the year, however reached eight million.
