One of the most important pillars of HP's strategy regarding their new devices, are mobile phones, computers or tablets, is the interconnection between devices. And demonstrations have shown us what they can do between them, but did not expect to have a clock gadget meantime. Besides webOS, link the different elements, we find the so-called Metal Watch, a watch still in the prototype stage but in the future will have its place in the wide catalog of gadgets from HP.
Going back a little back in time, revealed that HP and we were playing with clocks, but also included the Fossil watch the project, offering just the part that HP needed to complete a wrist unit. A couple of days, HP's CTO, Phil McKinney, show him again at an event hosted by HP in Shanghai, reporting that its development started back in 2007, when Palm had nothing to do with the giant computers.
A video of the presentation (at minute 25): For Phil the clock will be the focal point of the connected devices, and can show notifications and actions directly from it. He highlighted his constant Internet connection, we assume that being twinned with a mobile phone from the U.S. firm.
In this line Sony Ericsson has long worked in his line of watches, and more recently with its peripheral for Android devices, Sony Ericsson Live View. RIM also has taken his first steps on this issue with the BlackBerry inpulse clock. Unlike LiveView, Wath Metal seems to have a touch screen.
HP has not disclosed any details about its release, presentation or specific features of the device, it actually appears as a prototype in its early stages, so there will be a long wait. Track | precentral
