Five people, aged 15-26 years, suspected of having carried out attacks in the computer network Anonymous, were arrested Thursday, January 27 by the British police. The five young men 15, 16, 19, 20 and 26 years, placed in custody, were arrested at their home in London and the provinces. They are suspected of abuse in the IT field, which makes them liable to a maximum of ten years imprisonment and a fine of 5,000 pounds (5,786 euros).
According to the police statement, "the arrests were in connection with the attacks so-called denial of service (DDoS) led a group on the Internet calling itself Anonymous. They are part of an ongoing investigation conducted in coordination with U.S. and European services, the police said.
DUTCH TWO ARRESTED IN DECEMBER In December, computer attacks were launched against the websites of companies that Wikileaks deprived of access to its financial means, such as Mastercard and Visa. Two Dutch, one aged 16 and one 19, were also arrested in December and had confessed their involvement in cyber attacks, in support of Wikileaks.
