Eight-month investigation for nothing? U.S. military authorities confirmed to NBC that they had so far not been able to prove that Bradley Manning, a soldier of 23 years accused of having copied confidential military documents, these files were provided to WikiLeaks. Investigators claim to have proof that Private Manning downloaded without permission tens of thousands of confidential documents, and forwarded to third, but could not find any evidence that Mr.Manning had been in contact with Julian Assange or other members of Wikileaks. Mr. Assange had explained that the modus operandi of Wikileaks was precisely designed to prevent members of the organization and their informants in contact or know. DETENTION PLAN DRASTIC held incommunicado since his arrest in Kuwait in May, Bradley Manning had been transferred to the base in Quantico, Virginia, where he undergoes a drastic regime of detention: confined to isolation in his twenty-cellulle three hours out of twenty-four, he was allowed to watch television and can not play sports for an hour a day.
One of his friends, who has already visited several times, was denied entrance to the detention center Monday. Mr. Manning has been placed in special surveillance for two days last week, the authorities feared he attempts suicide. His support and several celebrities, including filmmaker Michael Moore and journalist Daniel Ellsberg, a procedure contrary to denounce the U.S. Constitution.
