Orange has dropped the services of DoubleClick, the advertising for Google in favor of OpenX, a small independent company. According to the first mobile operator and Internet in France, OpenX, launched four years ago, now has the size and maturity to compete with giants like Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and AOL, and is more suited to its advertising strategy covering mobile and television.
"We're passing all our countries to OpenX DoubleClick," he told Reuters, an official at France Telecom, under cover of anonymity. Orange boasts more than 60 million unique visitors per month on its Web sites and portals in Europe and the Americas. Based in Los Angeles, the company OpenX is backed by funds Accel Partners and Index Ventures, and has a separate partnership with Orange, a platform for buying and selling online advertising in Europe.
The giants of online advertising broadcast advertising screens 350 billion per month. According to Publicis, the global revenues from Internet advertising expected to grow 14% this year.
