Hercules eCAFE, new netbooks with Linux

Hercules has launched two new models of netbooks that are really interesting, first because they have opted for the Linux OS and Freescale chipsets second because they use similar technology to the ARM Cortex A8. The first is the Hercules eCAFE HD Slim features a Freescale processor i. MX515, 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, integrated webcam and a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels able to play 720p HD video.

Moreover we have the Hercules eCAFE EX HD, a higher version of the Slim HD. The EX HD also features a Freescale processor i. MX515, 512 MB of RAM, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, integrated webcam and the same screen, the difference lies mainly in its higher than 6,800 mAh battery, the addition of an HDMI output and internal memory amounting to the 16 GB through an SD memory slot.

The design is quite peculiar and dimensions including battery-only range of HD EX, while the HD Slim weighs 800 grams, the EX HD weighs 1.24 kilograms, but with autonomy of 13 hours worth .
