The virtual address of the home. Here comes the box label, paperless and postmen

Abolish the postal mail to save the forests. If our home address was replaced by a virtual counterpart, the sender would save paper, stamps and money without the risk that the message arrives late or, worse, does not reach its destination. And even in the event of natural disaster, when the streets and houses are hard to reach, the post should not be lost.

Marco Pellegrini, 45 years professional and ICT (Information and Communication Technology) has created EcoPost. org, the platform that enables members to help postmen and envelopes. Today the system is still in beta, is collecting the user feedback to improve service and access records on the rise (for this, waiting for the server that can hold up traffic, surfers had only 10 attempts to register).

"We have an e-mail to any address in the road network in the world," reads the site. Simply locate your home on the map to create a to mail EcoPost, where messages arrive. The box, just like the real one, it's only recipient and those who want to send mail, already knowing the city and highway will not have to do is send an email to the corresponding virtual.

In the event that the recipient had not yet activated, the sender will be notified and any digital communication will be lost. The advantage over traditional email is that anyone, such as public administration, will reach the recipient through a public figure already known, namely the home address.

"Confidentiality is guaranteed as well," says Pellegrini. "The service is free. The machines sort the mail, we just check that everything works properly. EcoPost was created to protect the environment by reducing paper consumption and avoiding the use of ink. The technology in fact allows us to transfer information and save on CO2 emissions.

" EcoPost may also be useful in the event of natural disasters: "When the houses are swept away, like the earthquake in Italy or the flood in the Veneto region, residents can continue to receive mail, all you need is Internet access. And timely communications, especially in emergency situations, is a key factor in speed of restoration of normalcy.

" Since the recommended letters and the universe are just the tip of the iceberg paper, Pellegrini has already planned changes that will allow you to associate the tax code to virtual box, driver's license or passport. Utopia difficult to achieve? Not at all: "We find examples in everyday life," he says.

"A citizen can register his identity card on EcoPost with the number that identifies it, and there receive notices of the City. And again, each car is identified by a plaque and a few years, the insurance will send a message directly on the dashboard of the driver. The same will apply to fines or notices of review.

It 's just a matter of time, but the paradigm will apply to all objects that we used to use every day. " So we must say goodbye to the old address and the pleasure to receive, sometimes letters 'traditional'? "The traditional address will always exist," says Pellegrini, "but will be less convenient to use.

To this now has to the final step: to communicate is no longer needed the card that is inefficient and slow, as well as harmful to the environment. "
