Facebook in the U.S. than the Google search engine visits

Throughout 2010, Facebook has topped the list in different periods of most visited sites in the United States. Now, Hitwise publishes annual summary that confirms this trend. Facebook has dethroned the Google search engine in 2010. The network has set the browser to 8.9% of visits in the United States from January to November.

Google has taken a 7.2%. Google dominated the list in 2008 and 2009 after overthrowing the social network MySpace, the leader in 2007 and now lives a difficult time. News Corp, the owner, could reduce staff by half. The leadership of Facebook, a social network with over 500 million members, does not hold when you add up all the Google sites (eg YouTube).

In this case, Google added 9.9%. All Yahoo services occupy third place with 8.1%. Hitwise also publishes the most popular words, a statistic that again reflects the leadership of Facebook, which has been the most searched word in 2009 and 2010. MySpace names and brief classifieds site Craigslist in 2009 were those who were behind Facebook.

In 2010, Facebook and Facebook login topped the list ahead of YouTube.
