Killzone 3, the blown revolution?

The PlayStation 3 takes it with Killzone 3, its reference shooter like Halo XBox and its license? From the first minutes, the story of the battle between the forces of the ISA (Interplanetary Strategic Alliance) and the separatists Helghan tends to the big show. The title of the studio Guerrilla Games willingly takes the excessiveness of codes of aesthetics and depicts a cynical Soviet generals and other political leaders, in the heart of the plot.

Fact rather rare for a blockbuster announcement, Killzone even allows himself some effects scriptwriting, in its single player campaign, with a dozen chapters, with a few flashback sequences rather thoughtful. Killzone 3 is intended also richer in its surroundings than the previous episode, released two years earlier.

Besides urban environments, the game also tries to renew the player's interest by offering other areas such as jungles or a world of ice. Defense areas, challenges sniper battles against hordes of enemies trying to multiply the Killzone game situations, without giving the impression of being crushed by the bullets that provides Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The fighting also rely heavily on a tactical level, that has been shown since Gears of Wars. The gameplay, however, lose its interest because of the attitude often stereotyped opponents, and helplessness in the mass mailing of enemy grenades. The action scenes are punctuated by numerous sequences with vehicles such as tanks; sequences called "rail" because the player has control of the shot ...

but not that of his travels. One way to add, rather artificially, new phases of play SCENARIO BADLY OPERATED Finally, despite this desire to introduce the diversity, the challenge of fun shooting game Guerrilla Games is only partially successful: even if the last part of the game is by far the most epic, the interest of missions is sawtooth ...

Killzone 3 succeeds only intermittently to make the dramatic tension of a scenario that can be guessed yet very rich. Despite a scene of strife - be it troops or ISA computers Helghan pundits - the political battles, however, promised at the beginning of the game is too often overlooked.

They are the enemy, not the protagonists, who have been more carefully by the designers of the game because the fighters of the ISA that the player can play as are unconvincing and lack of a strong identity. This disturbing trend was already apparent on XBox 360, Halo Reach. Despite this untapped potential, some discoveries welcomed, as the use of Playstation Move, restore some life to the revolution Helghan.
