Sony VAIO prepares two devices: one with Chrome OS and other "hybrid"

The prototype is working with the division of Sony VAIO are more than interesting, a few weeks ago we told you about the Japanese electronics giant was in the oven a couple of tablets known internally as S1 and S2, and a device with keyboard slide. We now know, thanks to Sony Insider, that a couple of new laptops hit the market with original ideas about what we are accustomed.

Obviously the information we share with you are unconfirmed, but the source seems reliable enough to do it: The first development is a portable, for now called Hybrid VAIO PC, consisting of two components: The way to connect both is not defined in the leak, but we understand that the second unit will be a kind of dock where dock the laptop.

We do not know how to fit this topic, but possibly Thunderbolt capabilities have something to do with this matter. Sony has been a good ally in Google, Android has chosen for its Smartphones, with the TV had no doubt be the first GoogleTV bet, and now Chrome will do the same with OS to give life to their new netbooks.

Entering specifications, we find the ubiquitous Nvidia Tegra 2 with a 11.6 inch screen (1366 x 768 pixels), and 1GB of RAM. ARM seems hard to come Chrome OS motorized equipment. Following the data we have, we know that memory is 16GB (eMMC), and has a low-power GeForce graphics designed by Nvidia.

The source reports that the keyboard is very similar to that seen in the Cr-48. In this type of device there will be plenty of wireless connectivity such as WiFi n, but we report that the Bluetooth GPS receiver will arrive later in new variants of the model. The source dares even with the size of the device: 19.9 × 298 × 215 mm, with a weight of 1 kilogram.

The battery has a range of 8 hours. For now is all, but it may take a little time will unveil the first images of the devices, and we will pay attention. Its release is planned for summer, and designs, especially the first laptop, will be a highlight, but the truth is commonplace in the VAIO family.

A market such as netbooks will be unable to appear against the expansion of the tablets, but where they have high hopes for companies like Asus or Sony itself. Do you think that netbooks are still a lot of trouble to give?. Route | Sony Insider
