Anonymous denies being the source of cyberattacks against Sony

The group has denied Anonymous, Thursday, May 5, be the source of attacks against multi-platform online game from Sony. "Let's be clear, we are legion, but it was not us. You are incompetent Sony Anonymous wrote on his blog. You do not win the public support by stealing information related to credit cards and personal identities ".

"We're trying to combat criminal activities committed by corporations and governments, not to steal credit cards," the collective hacktivists. A Sony spokesman declined to comment on the remarks of Anonymous, explaining that an investigation was underway. This denial came a day after the questioning of Anonymous by Sony, which held the group indirectly responsible for the attack against the platform massively multiplayer games with Sony Online Entertainment (SOE).

"When Sony Online Entertainment was discovered last Sunday in the afternoon that the company's data servers were stolen, he also discovered that intruders had set up a folder on one of these servers under 'Anonymous' with words' We are legion ", noted one official. Sony did not say whether the apparent claim seemed true or not.

Anonymous is known for attacks against websites of U.S. credit cards Visa and MasterCard in response to their decision to block payments to the publishing site of confidential information Wikileaks. THREE PLATFORMS attacked in mid-April, Sony has faced several attacks against its platform for online games.

Besides SOE, PlayStation Network, which has 77 million users, and the multimedia service Qriocity were also targeted. The attack resulted in the theft of personal data of millions of customers from Sony. But according to some experts that hackers have been heard in Congress, as Gene Spafford, these security breaches Sony servers were predictable, because the company was using non-updated versions of its software.

Sony is currently finalizing testing internally to boost its online services soon.
