Mountain GTM 2000, analysis (and VI): final conclusions and opinion of the computer

Sixth and final part of our analysis of Mountain GTM 2000, we published today, and as planned we will draw the final conclusions. We do not forget to make a comparison with our main test team, the GTM 900 also of Mountain. It's been five innings where we have placed special emphasis on the graphics, providing the results of tests of Mountain GTM 2000 with graphics cards the most modern among which were the NVidia GTX 580 or 560 Ti or AMD 6950 and 6970, among others.

Today the last entry, our conclusions about its use and more specifically our opinion after a few days to have him in our laboratory. As mentioned, all the data available to the Mountain GTM 2000 we made a comparison with our test team, the GTM 900. In all cases the resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels and settings for each program are identical on both computers.

Findings begin talking physical appearance, something that played in the first inning of this analysis. No doubt surprised by the quality of the Antec Twelve Hundred, the case chosen by Mountain for their cutting equipment gamer. It is one of the best cases we've tested and is known for being extremely spacious - is a grand tower - and very robust.

Includes six fans with blue LED lights are kept to a minimum although speed is enough to cool very efficiently all hardware. This is evident in the operation that has the computer, as it is very quiet in virtually any situation. Fan CPU cooler (Scythe Ninja a 3) do not ever hear, and perhaps the only thing we can upset the GPU fan, although this obviously depends on the model and graphics card chosen.

In general this is a very quiet and can not be said that upset, much less. After discussing the external appearance and we look to address the quality of the components. The case is the clearest example, as is the outside, but we can not forget the interior. All components are good brands, and that's something I personally treasure.

The Asus motherboard, memories Kingston, Western Digital hard drives, PNY graphics, power supply and Antec case, the heatsink Scythe ... is something that is noticeable in the final product, since all the parts maintain a decent quality for a high performance team such as the GTM 2000. But not only is the quality of construction and manufacture of components, which can provide guarantees of a good and stable performance.

Is that the components are high end or very high, such as the motherboard (Asus Maximus Extreme IV) that has cost over 300 euros, or the same box that is up to 175 euros. This is something that the vast majority do not need, but for those seeking a high performance team with - almost - the last thing the market is something to appreciate.

Performance is what you have seen in testing. Does it all at maximum settings, referring to video games, not to mention the stability and speed with which moves the operating system and common applications (office, web, video, etc.). We expected a high potential and we were not disappointed.

We could say that the Mountain GTM 2000 is a rather posh computer, where the brands are very important and result in a high price. Because face it, the base configuration is 1,492 euros and in 2011 few people can pay so much for a desktop computer. You pay the quality of each of the components, but if we start digging we can find a team with virtually identical performance for a much lower price.

Changing motherboard and case by more normalito and easily we can save 200 or 300 euros. But it is what it is. Those who acquire one of these Mountain GTM 2000 will not leave disappointed. The assembly is, as always, excellent, the best that can be done in Spain, and power out of the box and plug it without screwing anything is simply a delight.

At best we will have to reinstall your operating system (Mountain sells it optional) and be ready for use. Obviously not a perfect team - personally I think that there is no perfect team - and has its areas for improvement. For example, when all modern motherboards incorporate USB 3.0 GTM 2000 has no front connectors with this version, which will surely be resolved shortly and that Antec has announced the third version of its USB 3.0 box.

The team we've tested in Tech News Buzz this connection and had not stayed in a USB 2.0. Other aspects would be ideal if they could perhaps be altered, such as the size of the box - is enormous, and not everyone wants or can have something as big - or the happy lights of the fans who have already commented.

As far as settings are concerned I must say that there are multiple options, although I wish there was some more. For example in the graphic starts on a NVidia GTX 570 and at most we can go back to AMD 6950 with a discount of about 35 euros. Both are models that provide excellent performance, but other options such as AMD or NVidia 6850 560 Ti offer, in view of our analysis, a more than enough power for significantly lower prices.

We lower the bar for about 100 euros and will continue to have a computer with excellent performance and more than enough for all, something that surely pleases the majority. Finally, we discuss the price. As we are part of about 1,492 euros for the base team, and we must recognize that there is a low price.

But it is a high-end computer, high quality and very good performance using the most expensive components in the world. This is a computer for those who do not want to soil their hands in their assembly or configuration. If you like to search for parts, trailers, budgets and check out benchmarks on the web, then you better enjoy yourself móntatelo twice.

If you are someone you want your computer for many years and are looking for something good and very reliable, GTM Mountain 2000 is an interesting option. "Cara? Depends what you want to spend, of course. Mountain GTM 2000 has been transferred to the test by Mountain. Please check our relationships with companies.
