NVidia GTX 590, analysis

NVidia GTX 590, with all of you. Perhaps she expected a post explaining the technical features and specifications. No. Today we bring you a little surprise, analysis of the new NVidia graphics card is doing precisely official at this precise moment we post this entry. Yes, we have a few days testing the latest NVidia GTX 590 and we have already passed all the tests, which we show - as always - here.

Some touches: dual GPU GF110 (the same as the GTX 580) and 3 GB of GDDR5 memory (1.5 GB for each core) that give rise to a very good performance with amazing operating temperatures. You can find out yourself, as always, in our analysis below: A brief description of test equipment and software used: The results you will see in the following comparisons are all own, drawn from our tests and analysis of the different cards charts in recent months.

Two tests on 3DMark 11 and FurMark With all the default settings. In all these benchmarks involved, the higher the score, the better. You will find the data frames per second (fps) on the top bar of each graph. The resolution is 1,680 × 1050. In all cases, the more fps the better. Maximum graphics settings all the limit values.

Maximum graphics settings all the limit values (fan settings) except antialiasing (a 0) and a second test with all the best except antialiasing filter (a 0), and the quality of the textures that we place in standard (configuration standard). Maximum graphics settings all the limit values (including filters) maximum graphics settings, all settings to the max: maximum graphics settings all the values to the maximum: We took two values of consumption, idle and full.

The first started with the computer operating system without running any application or game. The second, with the computer as possible. A lower consumption, better. The same, two idle and full values. The first value is the average temperature in operation with the computer without running any user process, and the other operating temperatures with extreme use: NVidia GTX 590 may be a graphics card that disappointed many, especially in view of test results and real benchmarks.

It is clearly a model that can handle everything that throw, which is situated (on average) as the most powerful graphics card we tested if we except the CrossFireX 6970. What is certain is that is ahead of GTX 580 by using two of the GPU, the Model GF110 'Fermi', and theory behind the AMD 6990 have yet to analyze it yet.

This is the new flagship model from NVidia, and more than games is aimed at overclocking. Look at their operating temperature are excellent, with only 54 degrees on idle and hovering around 74 in full. It is a graphics card cooler we've tested, and that he has dual core. It is absolutely amazing and to his credit, NVidia an excellent job in this section, as the GTX 480 last year was unfortunate in this respect.

I must admit it has been, by far, what has surprised me most about this new model. The noise is quite low, nothing compared to what we experienced - and I mean: to suffer - with the last generation cards. One of the most positive aspects is that the cooling works very well and works very fast, so we can spend 80 to 60 degrees in a few seconds.

Absolutely amazing. And yes, maybe we have been disappointed as far as performance is concerned, as the newly introduced AMD 6990 is - on paper - more powerful. But NVidia GTX 590 was not born to be a mass success, if not a model minority and focused on overclocking. And here is where the temperatures come into play.

With temperatures so low is likely to become more GPU overclocking market. If you are into overclocking and want the absolute best, then the GTX 590 is ideal, but if you search efficiency (ie, yield a good price) it seems logical that there are other interesting models. Do not think that we were going to go without mention to the price of NVidia GTX 590.

We talk about the official figure for Spain, which as always will vary depending on the card manufacturer and the store in which we acquire. Models have been confirmed by Asus, Point of View, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI and Zotac, for example. The NVidia GTX 590 price is 649 euros. "Cara? Sure, but as we say it is a model that arrives for mass success, but to be very minor.

For the domestic market (even for the geeks) is much more enticing options like two Ti NVidia GTX 560 in SLI if you like green, or two AMD 6970 CrossFireX if yours is red. Or just looking for pure performance, the AMD 6990. But in regard to overclocking few can compete with the NVidia GTX 590.

PS: This last image is of the box you sent us NVidia graphics card and do not correspond to any model sold at least that we know today. NVidia GTX 590 has been released for testing by NVidia. Please check our relationships with companies.
