Samsung talks about the next two generations of screens tablets

A Samsung has taken to point out and discuss future plans for today, first with the issue of 3D screens without glasses, and now it's the turn of the pixel density of the panels used in the screens tablets. The Korean company paves the way for her and for those who have to provide screens, so it has announced what their options within the next four years, and since this is one of the leading manufacturers, we used to see what will the technology in 2015.

As you can see in the chart below share, Samsung has sought to inform its future strategy regarding the Samsung Display Panels Strategy 2011, the predictions speak of two generations of screens: The Samsung panels tablets currently on the market move between 130 and 170PPI, in the same situation you are in for 6 hours.

We understand that are drawing comparisons with the same hardware reference, possibly Nvidia Tegra 2. In every generation the thickness will decrease to get thinner devices. Anyone who is following this issue will remember the rumor that appeared related to the iPad 2 which is betting on quadruple the number of pixels on the screen, a lot now, but that obviously is the future that awaits us.

The density of pixels on the screen seems to be the new star on screen specification, an element that many features as the panel or its termination have much to say about their quality, or if it suits what we want. In mobile telephony Apple broke the mold with the screen of the iPhone IPS 4 (manufactured by LG), bringing the density of pixels to 326PPI (pixels per inch), a significant jump from the 163PPI the iPhone 3G.

In the same 3.5 inch, have very different resolution: 320 x 480 pixels on the 3G model, and 640 × 960 pixels in the final model. Realize interesting detail in the picture, speaking of LCD panels, so much war will appear in these sizes until you get AMOLED in any of the different versions it works with the Korean company.

We hope to come soon AMOLED tablets. Another important detail to consider in this race of technology is that mobile devices have the upper hand as far as displays are concerned, at least in the pixel density, much higher than computer monitors and laptops. Except for cases such as panels used in Sony Vaio Z: 1920 x 1080 pixels 13.1-inch (168.16 PPI).

Samsung reports that in 2010 nearly 2,000 million screens will be launched on the market, including phones, tablets, monitors, etc.. The number will be leaving to 2,400 million in 2013, so no wonder you are setting up more factories OLED in a rush. Via | Engadget
