Amazon moves to the international expansion of Netflix

Amazon has bought British online videoclub Lovefilm, whose company already owned shares. The move is interpreted as a defensive move to the U.S. announcement of Netflix, also dedicated to the rental of films and series from the Internet, leaving the domestic market and into Europe this year. Amazon may start an operation Lovefilm expansion in Europe.

This service is present in Germany and Scandinavia. The company began as a DVD rental service in 2002 and now has more than 1.4 million customers. The company has added services like a catalog of games, although in the area of renting movies via streaming, not downloading, has had a dispute to offer products from companies such as Universal.

Spotify the other hand, the European music portal Spotify has reached an agreement with Sony to offer its catalog in the U.S.. Spotify is not present in the country and plans to enter the United States have been delayed by difficulties in reaching agreements with the major labels. The Sony support can help in these difficult negotiations.
