Zynga, fear the "City"

The publisher Zynga, which specializes in games on social networks, is the word "city". The company, known for games on Facebook as Cityville, Farmville, or FrontierVille and PetVille, has threatened to sue another publisher for trademark infringement, reports the specialized site Gamasutra, Monday, Jan.

24. Zynga criticized because the use of the term in BlingVille, a game for Facebook, currently in testing phase. "The use of the name" BlingVille "is an obvious attempt to capitalize on the fame of the family of games 'city', and as FarmVille Cityville. We are ready to take all necessary measures to protect our intellectual property rights" said a spokesman Zynga on Gamasutra.

In 2009, Zynga had already faced proceedings for infringement of copyright: the Mob Wars game publisher had found too many similarities between his game and Mafia Wars, another game from Zynga. An agreement was finally found some months later.
