GeeksPhone Zero, the Spanish commitment to terminal Gingerbread

Geeksphone returns to the scene, the developer of the first Android handset Spanish, shares with us the first specification and images of his second project, the GeeksPhone Zero. A terminal that is altogether more interesting and mature than it was the GeeksPhone One, I mean, their specifications are mid-range as discussed below, but has a number of highlights, starting with its price: It will not enter family fight Galaxy S or Desire, people bet GeeksPhone mid-range specifications in which at least have not forgotten to choose a capacitive screen, with 3.2 inch HVGA resolution (480 × 320 pixels).

In the process we have a Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset-2 at 600MHz (used in the HTC Wildfire) with Z430 GPU, 256MB of RAM and 512MB ROM. The camera, on paper, looks interesting: 5 megapixels with autofocus. Let the other specs: The phone initially will come with Google applications and services, but that does not mean they can not be installed.

The point is that the first batch will be released before passing the certification Google London. Zero meets all the requirements for an "Android Compatible Device." Another curious detail is that the factory is rooted in fact come with Zero GeeksPhone made by Cyanogen Gingerbread, a renowned developer of the Android community.

But by default we will come forward with Froyo (also Cyanogen), since Google has not released the code in time to have a stable version. The day of his release will be available Android 2.3 (CyanogenMod 7). It seems that future updates are going to work in a somewhat "special" to arrive quickly to your phone: formalizing the ROMs of the developers.

GeeksPhone bear the creators of the ROMS both software and hardware, certifying them as official when considered valid. This move comes within a program known as CCR (Certified Community Release Program). The reward that exists between the different parties is not something that comes into my knowledge, but certainly represents a way to have updated the system without having an official development team.

Hopefully in the future to grow as a company and are able to maintain a department that is responsible for this issue as a first option rather than using the CCR program. But if neither the electronics giants are doing well in this regard, we do not excessively demanding. In the not too distant future Spanish company wants to launch a model with greater pretensions, and although we do not give many details, we heard rumors that it goes up to 4 inches and hardware will be more in line with major mobile market.

All indications are that his name will GeeksPhone Two, appearing as the renewal of the first phone, and not see it before the summer. As seems to matter more and more manufacturers have reported that updates to your terminal will remain important. Internally and are thinking of tablets, but also give us more details about it, albeit a little bird has told us that 7 and 10 inches are like a GeeksPhone sizes.
