Microsoft gives in to Apple Farewell to Zune, iPod rival

LONDON - The market for digital music players has only one master, and his name is iPod. He realized even Microsoft, which decided to pull the plug on the Zune, its mp3 player that would erode the primacy of Apple. The latest version, Zune HD, nor is it ever reached Europe. And so in Redmond have decided that all the work done on Zune will survive in the smartphone with Windows Mobile 7 and the Xbox console.

But the departure of Zune, a brand also appreciated, but that has never really broken through, does not mean abandoning the music business for the company in Redmond. Programs is launching a new platform for distributing music online. Ventura will be named and will clash with giants like the iTunes Store, Amazon and other companies in the digital domain.

The recent agreements with Nokia will likely lead to the creation of an extensive online store with "app" for Windows 7 Phone and multimedia content, in line with what has been achieved by competitors. Ventura should then be integrated with Azure, Microsoft's cloud platform, to maintain access to your media library is always available on the web, from different devices.

E 'therefore reasonable to assume a coming of Zune / Ventura in the new Nokia smartphones based on Windows Mobile 7, and of course the tablet and the new devices that will be realized in the near future. Farewell to Zune recalls another recent sale of Microsoft, that of the smartphone "social" Kin.

In this case, however, the platform had more than a few fans. The Zune range, especially in recent times, has offered quality products. But the law of the market has prevailed.
