Orange extends its offer for Spain tablets cheap

The telecom operator Orange has decided to expand its offering of blocks under its own brand by launching the "Orange Tablet", at a rate more "competitive" in four European countries to lower purchasing power, said Tuesday group in a statement. Already available in Romania, Poland and Slovakia, this tablet will be launched this week in Spain at the World Congress mobile phone that opened on Monday in Barcelona.

These countries were chosen "because purchasing power is lower and we can not hope to sell or iPad Galaxy tab" number, says the director of mobile services and terminals of France Telecom Orange, Anne Bouverot, adding that the tablet could then be launched in other markets. A SECTOR INCREASINGLY COMPETITIVE Built by the Chinese Huawei and running the Android operating system, the Orange Tablet has a 7 inch screen and can connect to 3G.

It may be subsidized up to a euro by the operator, depending on the length of the subscription selected, and will air in Orange stores, the group said. The segment of touch pads, which takes off from the launch of the iPad the spring of 2010, is considered as one of the most promising sector in terms of growth.

The analyst firm Gartner recently estimated at 19.5 million units the number of tablets sold in Tech News Buzz in 2010, and was expecting to 54.8 million for 2011, and over 200 million by 2014.
