Sony Cibershot HX9V, first impressions

There are many compact on the market, but Sony Cibershot HX9V we had the opportunity to prove in the last annual convention of the company deserves a special mention. For my taste, we're probably at the best compact Sony that can be purchased today. The Cybershot HX9V has a medium size, with 104.8 × 59 × 33.9 mm and weighs 215 grams.

The dimensions are necessary to hold the powerful optics that for a change, not a Karl Zeiss, but a Sony G equipped with a 16x optical zoom and Optical SteadyShot stabilizer. Although not the longest zoom we've seen in a compact, the 16x of the Cybershot HX9V, combined with the stabilizer intelligent, offer spectacular results, with sharp images even with a pulse quite horrific and zoom to the full.

The image stabilizer is effective even while recording video walk. The optical zoom is not everything, and is also able to achieve wide-angle 24 mm. After the optics, HX9V hides his second ace in the hole, an R type Exmor CMOS sensor of 7.7 mm and 16.2 effective megapixels Bionz processor attached to the house.

The speed of approach that gives us this tandem is only 0.1 seconds. We also found a very good capacity for continuous shooting. Sony has used this feature to integrate an intelligent system able to take panoramic snapshots of up to 10480 × 4096 pixels with only one press of the shutter and move the camera horizontally or vertically.

The intelligent scanning system is also used to emulate 3D photography superimposing the two best shots in a burst scan. The camera even has a way Background Defocus able to overlay two images approaches at different depths of field to emulate the typical professional photographic approach.

The same applies to the Intelligent mode, which decides for itself whether to combine several shots to ensure the best approach in poor lighting conditions. As far as video is concerned, the 1080p Full HD video recording HX9V the negligible rate of 50 frames per second. Micro four thirds are doing much damage to the compact segment as the HX9 advanced.

However, we believe that this great little camera is enforced despite the lack of interchangeable lenses. Especially notable for its zoom, the image stabilizer and automatic modes, the HX9V be available in April at a price of 370 euros. At operating level, the Sony Cybershot HX9V is as automatic as we want, but do not forget the manual settings that many users seek.

The 3-inch LCD screen and function of GPS with digital compass, put the icing on a camera as complete and interesting.
