Tablet rich, poor tablet

Sometimes I see "dead androids." Those are my thoughts these days when a small army of affordable tablets with Android invade my desk in Tech News Buzz. Just before the MWC and the days after presenting the advanced tablets that hear about all this 2011, the tablets Android last year they ventured out into the market are praying not to fall into oblivion.

Like it or not, with the tablets Android have created the league of the rich and the poor. Or more realistically, the whole tablets and those who focus on being media players with extra features. Less rare cases such as Samsung Tab Galaxy, all tablets with Android that came out last year were the result of the effect netbook of their respective manufacturers.

And what is that effect? Very simple. To the siren call of the tablets, especially by the brutal impact of Apple's iPad media, was established in the market anything goes. Thinking about that users would be as crazy for having a tablet in his hands, the Asian factories were put to work for a couple of models that can clone to install Android.

Then came the avalanche. If almost all advanced as the iPad tablets, Galaxy Tab or upcoming Motorola Playbook or Xoom are seeing that prices are quite high, what can not be expected to lower the price of them inevitably means giving up features? The most important addition to the finish, is the screen.

All Android affordable tablets opt to include this technology for their models, and it shows. Surely the only thing that saved the Galaxy Tab this year was the fantastic finish, the quality of your screen and that the version of Android that includes no limitations. Resistive screens can run but they are of proven quality.

So, thinking that all resistive screen tablets are the same market is a mistake. We've tested screens that you finger is literally hooked and others in which many consumers would not notice many differences from one capacitive. If the world only Android tablets were talking about design, finish or hardware, no problem beyond the screen quality.

But the sum of resistive and screen versions of Android is not ready to jump into capadas plus tablet is not a good estimate. Be highly filtered own stores is not the most desirable, and just saved the programs each brand has improved for the tablet with Android. The operating system has, and so far the only one who has shown that Apple has it in his iPad.

The other major brands, except Samsung, have had (I say had chosen not because they think it was a choice but an obligation not to fail itself) to wait until at least Android 2.3 has been released. With the first version of Android tablets the future looks less fog, but with varying intensity depending on which tablet.

The models we tested in Tech News Buzz with version 2.1 have been uneven playing as you will soon. The Creative Zii has disappointed us very largely by the screen and above all by the limitation in the Android store (although to be fair they have always been positioned as a tablet that meet mutimedia and fine), which is not official.

Bq model improved the formatting, controls and the display slightly, but lame in the app store, and the best result has given us has undoubtedly been the P4D Nvsbl v2, with the best finish of street fairly good response from the screen despite being resistive and integration without limitation of Android.

For the tests we have done five tablets Android affordable, they do have their way in the multimedia and even web browsing. As at the time the screen should not touch a lot or you can opt for the stylus, its primary function is fulfilled with very good note. The chips included in most can with video up to 720p and HDMI output is also included so that we can use as portable media players.

Honestly, until they improve the operating system and some of its displays, tablets Android flights can not be an alternative to the big brands (only if we can replace them) and will just look like a complete multimedia player, a teaching team photos, take a look at a few sites and read the mail or an electronic book.

Although, was not for that the tablet?
