LG Optimus Pad. We tested at MWC 2011

Of the three tablets Star Mobile World Congress 2011, LG Optimus Pad is the only one capable of recording video in high definition 3D 1080. In our first contact with the tablet Honeycomb, the third dimension is not the only thing that has caught our attention. It is also the best time has been ported to handle multiple applications simultaneously.

Equipped with two 5-megapixel front camera each, the LG Optimus Pad, however, is not capable of displaying three-dimensional images without glasses, as does its companion range, the LG 3D Optimus. Instead, the tablet of the Korean visible creates a 3D preview mediate anaglyph glasses (the red and blue lens of life).

The truth is that this system is not to say revolutionary. Images taken with the tablet only charge all their vivacity when they are moved to a 3D TV of any kind. Moreover, the 3D camera application Optimus Pad LG adds some extra features, such as artistic filters, and the ability to adjust the depth of field of 3D using a bar at the bottom of the screen.

Physically, the LG tablet is not as big as Samsung and Motorola models. Instead of the 10.1-inch screen, the diagonal of Optimus Pad stays at 8.9 inches. LG says it has conducted studies for which this measure is more ergonomic to write on the screen with two fingers (with the tablet in portrait) or horizontally in both hands.

Without going into a sterile discussion of an inch above or below, the tablet is comfortable to hold and the keyboard is very responsive to touch, although the thickness of the shell and weight than the Samsung model. All other specifications match those of Motorola and Samsung Xoom Galaxy Tab 10.1.

In the case of LG, the processor is a Dual Core Nvidia Tegra 2. During the test at the Mobile World Congress have seen a better performance of applications and multitasking than their competitors, but there is no technical reason to explain it and perhaps just a matter of the prototypes we had in hand.

It is too early to judge. Except for the camera application 3, the Optimus Pad LG also customize the Android 3.0. All applications and operating system are the same as in Motorola and Samsung models we've discussed. It remains to see what each manufacturer prices takes your bet. Unless the rumors as 1,200 euros of Xoom Motorola, none has specified anything officially, and we suspect they will not until Apple, the reference so far in the tablet segment, say something about the iPad 2.
