OMAP 5, four hearts beating inside your future phone

If manufacturers, assemblers phones have a bitter struggle to convince consumers that their phones are the best, not quitéis eye to the cruel battle star producers pumping muscle of bits of these phones. Capping by the thrust of the Nvidia Tegra 2, Texas Instruments will bring breast at the MWC 2011 in Barcelona with its new quad-core OMAP SoC 5.

The two largest are ARM Cortex A15 2 GHz each, and will accompany him on routine dedicated to image processing, sound and video two Cortex M4 ready for those less demanding tasks dominated moderate power consumption of future phones. The main chips promise a return of up to 50% higher than the current Cortex A9, with improved consumption by 60%.

All that raw power will lead next year in mobile and tablet capable of playing 1080p video in three dimensions at 60 fps on your own screen or better, on a large screen via HDMI. The functions of the camera are also reinforced with the ability to process this future chip for mobile phones and tablets, with image stabilization or face detection function with support for up to four cameras.
