Nintendo Wii focuses on the new tablet arrives in 2012

LOS ANGELES - An iPad for gaming? Maybe not, but something that tries to oppose the advance of Apple in an industry increasingly dominated by other names. PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo of course. Historically, the most innovative company in the industry, and even then "Nintendo day" Electronic Entertainment Expo, the goal was hit.

Undeniable, however, that the surprise was equal to the disappointment: we expected to see the new Wii 2 that it only arrived in 2012. But in the meantime, Nintendo showed the new, advanced console's controller that will be: a real tablet with 6-inch touchscreen, sensors, webcams and microphones.

Wii U. The forthcoming Wii console will be called U, where U is the time for "utopia" that "you", and they still know little. "Some are suitable for console gamers," said Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo. "Others, like the Wii, have been designed for those with video games have never really played.

This time, with U Wii, we thought of them both." With the Wii first, the multinational Kyoto has revolutionized the videogame market, selling over 90 million units by 2006. Compared to the console, the new U Wii is more powerful though, at first glance, it does not compare to Sony's PlayStation 3.

But if the former owes its success to the Wii motion-based controller, the next Nintendo machine will focus on a whole new device. In fact it is a tablet with a camera, microphone and integrated gyro and 6.2-inch touchscreen. It can work as a tool for augmented reality, display tout court for the game, connected to other devices such as the balance board.

Or even as a second screen combined with the tv show house which contained different control system console through traditional buttons or touch screen. And yet, graphics tablet to draw and enrich games with their own creations. Nothing was said about the Wii instead of U itself, at which the tablet is connected.

The stamping is a versatile machine and can be exploited in countless ways by developers. Nintendo has announced that several game publishers are already working there. In fact there would be preparation of chapters Assassin's Creed, Tekken and other sports titles from EA's Need for Speed Fifa.

New games 3Ds. During the conference, which began with a concert by an orchestra in full force to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Zelda saga, were also presented the new video games for 3DS out by Christmas. From Mario Kart, which in this version seems even more fun, through 3D Starfox 64, Super Mario up to 3D, Luigi's Mansion 2, Pokédex 3D, Resident Evil: Revelations, 3D Tekken, Metal Gear Soldi Snake Eater 3D.

In short, the war horses not only Nintendo, sent down the track to support the sales of the last portable device.
